Last weekend, I've chanced upon the UAAP basketball game between the UST Growling Tigers (Hello Nathan Asilo!) and the NU Bulldogs.
It was a pretty lopsided game, as the NU Bulldogs hammered the UST Growling Tigers (Hello again, Mr.Asilo!) to the tune of 73 - 49.
The remarkable thing during that game was NU Bulldog's prized rookie, Ray Parks Jr's miracle shot during the dying seconds of the game. Some players have their "career" shots. Jordan had many, including that one in Cleaveland. Bal David has his as posted by colleague Philippe. Magic had his ala-Kareem hook shot.
I can hear you now screaming, "how dare you compare this rookie to those greats?!"
I know.
Those players mentioned above did their "career" shots during critical moments. Jordan's was a buzzer beating, game winning shot, so was Bal David's and Magic's while Ray Parks' was on the dying seconds of a non-bearing, already decided game.
Bingo!
That's the thing. This kid has grown in such a short time that he chases after loose balls even on the said circumstances.... being a rookie, he could only get better.
