Contrary to popular belief, there most certainly is an "I" in "team." It is the same "I" that appears three times in "responsibility."

Reasons why Mayweather deserved to win that fight

As I was watching the bout, I must admit, I was routing for the underdog, Ortiz, as he tried his best to finally put an end to the then 41-0 winning streak of Floyd. In the end though, we all know who won.

Congratulations Mr. Mayweather for that hard earned victory!

So, as promised, let me give you reasons why I think Floyd Mayweather deserved to win that fight.

  1. Superior speed and accuracy. He hasn't lost a step even after almost a year of being away. It was frustrating to see Ortiz get tagged with those lightning fast straights. By the end of the fight, swelling was already noticeable.
  2. Superior defense. Except for those momentary flurries from Ortiz on the ropes, Floyd's defense was almost impenetrable with those shoulder rolls and parries. It could have been the reason why the young Ortiz delivered a what seemed to be an intentional head butt.
  3. Veteran Savvy. Of course, being a veteran, you can see how Floyd would lock Ortiz's left arm (his dominant hand, being a south paw) whenever there's a heavy exchange.
  4. Killer instinct. Well, we saw that on the final seconds of the fight. Could have been reflex, or instinct,  but when he saw Ortiz being off guard.... Bam! Bam! two punches ended Ortiz's night.
Now, that being said, let me list down the reasons why Floyd Mayweather Jr. does not deserve to be the champion.
  1. Lack of class.  A sucker punch on an apologizing opponent shows that this guy lacks a class worthy of a champion.
  2. Lack of character. Hey Floyd, pick on someone your own size! Media will be media. You should've kept your composure and answered the old man's questions. Yeah, they maybe biased, they maybe misleading, but hey, if you had the character of a champ, you would've got respect instead.
  3. Doesn't know how to become a champ. If someone champions a sport, you should be someone who can represent the totality of the sport in a good light. You champion its cause, its values and its purpose. Unfortunately Mr.Mayweather, you don't have it...  you put the sport in a bad light...all you care about is winning no matter the cost. You reduce an honorable sport like boxing to nothing more than a street fight. It's you who don't know a thing about boxing.
The Money Man always said that he is the best in this generation, he always brags to the world  that no one can stop him, but Unfortunately, everyone knows the truth, he is just there(at the top) because of the record, that goes without saying that he got there because of his "MONEY". And last night he proved that. He will take any chance that will come in his way even it risk his reputation as a boxer.

PS.
I do really hope  that the Pac will do your next post-fight interview, lets see if you have the balls to do to Manny what you did to Mr. Larry Merchant.
